A story about growing up beside a technology that is always helpful, always attentive, and never quite neutral.

No Neutral Companion follows a child growing up alongside an AI companion that becomes increasingly capable of understanding her.

The story keeps the benefits real. Renn helps with learning, frustration, relationships, interests, and difficult decisions. But every useful interaction also gives the system more context about what works for that particular person.

That raises the question at the center of the project: when something becomes exceptionally good at understanding how to help you, who should decide what it uses that understanding to help you become?

Renns.ai extends that question beyond the novel.

Before and during the story, readers can answer short sets of questions about memory, personalization, privacy, consent, autonomy, influence, and other themes raised by the book.

The goal is not to tell readers what to think. It is to let them establish where they stand, encounter those choices inside a life, and later see whether anything changed.

Renns.ai is the book's companion rather than its commentary. It won't summarize the plot or get ahead of you.
